Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps

A tip about the maps was posted to Genealogy Tip of the Day and in response to emails, we've created this very short list of sites.



Libraries that have access to ProQuest may have access to Sanborn maps for the state in which the library is located--ask. The maps are usually not online free--but there are exceptions. 

Try a Google search for "sanborn insurance maps yourstate" to see what finding aids you can locate.
