Michael John Neill's genealogy website. Things that cross my path, general research suggestions, and whatever else ...with a little bit of attitude. I don't post "news" just to post it, never post a press release (edited or otherwise), don't feign excitement, and pretty much say what I think.

Employment Records Provide an Unexpected Clue
There's a reason why genealogists recommend that an exhaustive search be conducted. This employment card from the Chicago, Illinois, area Pullman Car Company for Thomas Frame is one of those reasons.
Where it lists "relatives" in the company's employ, a Frank Frame is listed as an adopted son. This is the only record that indicates Frank was adopted. While it could easily be incorrect, it does warrant additional research on Frank.
This is not the sort of clue one expects to get from an employment record. But it makes the point that one never knows.
