Michael John Neill's genealogy website. Things that cross my path, general research suggestions, and whatever else ...with a little bit of attitude. I don't post "news" just to post it, never post a press release (edited or otherwise), don't feign excitement, and pretty much say what I think.

Can You Read It?
This comes from a court document in Fleming County, Kentucky, in the early 1800s. This is the signature of the Justice of the Peace on a affidavit.
This one is really hard--there's no doubt of that. It is actually supposed to be Bertis[sic] Ringo. He was a justice of the peace in Fleming County, Kentucky--hopefully he did not write too many court papers.

This is a toughie. My guess is that the first name is an abbreviated Benjamin...or maybe just Bentz. Last name Pringe or Pringle.
